NSW: Brogden to come under pressure to resign

New South Wales Opposition Leader JOHN BROGDEN will come under pressure to resign today.

Mr BROGDEN has admitted to making a racist slur about former premier BOB CARR'S wife
HELENA and behaving inappropriately towards two women at a public function.

He apologised last night for describing Malaysian-born Mrs CARR as a mail-order bride
at a function hosted by the Australian Hotels Association on August the 5th.

He also apologised for pinching journalist JUSTINE FERRARI on the bottom and for propositioning
another journalist.

Mr CARR, who retired as premier earlier this month, has called on Mr BROGDEN to resign.

Premier MORRIS IEMMA has also condemned the comments and called for Mr BROGDEN to quit.

The opposition leader is married and has a young son.
