Fed: Ford Falcon first Aussie car with five-star crash rating

MELBOURNE, Aug 4 AAP - The latest Ford Falcon is the first Australian-built car to
win a world-best five-star rating for its crash safety.

The new FG Falcon range achieved the top score in the latest round of the Australian
New Car Assessment Program.

The five-star rating matches the Falcon with top luxury cars such as the Mercedes C-Class
and puts it ahead of local rivals including the Holden VE Commodore and Toyota Camry and
Aurion, which all achieved a four-star rating, News Limited newspapers reported today.

The tests include frontal and side impact collisions and take into account safety features
including airbags, electronic stability control and seat belt warnings for every passenger
space.
