QLD: Outer Edge skipper back in court

GEOFFREY "JACK" NAIRN, the dive boat skipper acquitted of the manslaughter of two US
divers who disappeared off Cairns, was back in court today.

NAIRN appeared in Cairns magistrates court to face charges of breaching Workplace Health
and Safety regulations in relation to the disappearance of THOMAS and EILEEN LONERGAN.

He was ordered to appear again on February 1.

Last month, NAIRN was acquitted of the manslaughter of the LONERGANS after a 13-day
trial in the Cairns Supreme Court.

The LONERGANS disappeared after being accidentally left behind during a diving excursion
to St Crispin's Reef north east of Cairns, on January 25 last year.
